Missions Concert

Friday night, April 13th at Good Shepherd - beginning at 7pm
The team will host a concert to raise funds for mission trip to Peru set for June 28th- July 11th. A mix of music styles, plus testimonies and fellowship -it's a beautiful thing! A love offering will be taken to raise support for the youth and adults to go and minister.

We urge all members to arrive earlier than usual. The children will go directly to their classes thus allowing us more time to assist our guests in finding seating and parking spaces.

We request that if you are accustomed to bringing two vehicles to church that you only bring one vehicle on April 8 in order to free up more parking spaces for our visitors.

1st Annual Golf Outing

This year's event will be held Saturday, August 20th at the well-manicured
Auburn Hills Golf Course in Riner, Virginia. Registration begins at 12 pm, with tee-off at 1:30 pm.

Backyard Bible School

We will be doing Backyard Bible School at Brian and Amy Sutphin's home the week of July 24th. There will be a kickoff (block party style) on Sunday, July 24 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.. Backyard Bible School will take place Monday, July 25 - Wednesday July 27 from 6:30 - 8:30.

Crafts: (this is a simple craft) need someone to facilitate the craft area and a helper

Age groups:

4 & 5 yr olds
Rising K - Rising 2nd Grade
Rising 3rd - Rising 6th Grade
(younger children are welcome with a parent)

We will need three helpers with the 4 & 5's group
and 2 helpers with both the K-2nd & 3rd -6th.

Church "Workdays"

Hey Church Family, I hope that you are all having a blessed day. I'm just writing you to invite you to participate in one of our workdays this week. There are several things to be done around the church building. We need to finish roofing, facing the lobby, framing some small rooms in the basement, and there are several places where we need to put up additional hat channels. We are in need of your help so if you are available and willing please come out. There are three primary work times this week:

Tuesday Night (tonight): Dinner is from 5-6PM. Work will be from 6PM-Dark
Wednesday Night: Dinner is from 5-6PM. Work will be from 6PM-Dark
Saturday: Work is from 8AM-??????. We will break for lunch at noon.

Please note that Dave Jennings will be starting to work at 3PM on each of the evening "workdays". If you are available before 5, he will be there and there is plenty to do. Things you need to know:

All skill levels are welcomed. If you've never worked with a project like this there are many who have been working who can show you what to do. If you are a skilled craftsman you are also welcomed. All skilled craftsmen need to contact Dave Jennings directly so that he can know who you are as well as your level of experience. This step will help us be more organized.
If you are planning to work on the roof you need to wear tennis shoes or soft soled shoes to prevent slipping.
If you plan to serve on any of these workdays please contact Judy Conyers at jconyers80@gmail.com or by phone/text at 540-589-3655. This will help us know how much food to prepare as well as what jobs can be completed on a given workday.

Supplies Needed:

The main thing needed right now are drills and batteries to power them. If you have a drill that you aren't using please consider bringing it to the church so that it can be used for this project. Be sure to label the drill with your name on it.
We are in need of additional safety harnesses. If you have a harness that you can loan us for the next month that would be great. Again, please be sure to label it.

Moving Forward: As we move forward with this project, in the coming months we will continue with similar "workdays". Most weeks these workdays will take place on Tuesday night, Thursday night, and Saturday. All who are able should choose at least one of these times and commit to helping as much as possible during these times. If there are only a handful of us it is going to take a long time to accomplish the work. But if we rally together and work much can be accomplished for the glory of God. Hey Everyone,
I am just emailing to invite you to tomorrows workday at the church. There is much work to be done. If you are planning to be on the roof please wear tennis shoes or shoes with a soft rubber sole. Also, we need as many cordless drills and batteries as we can find. If you can donate one for tomorrow please do so and be sure to put your name on it. We plan to start work at 7:30am tomorrow. I hope you will join us!
