  •  Tuesday Night (tonight): Dinner is from 5-6PM. Work will be from 6PM-Dark
  • Wednesday Night: Dinner is from 5-6PM. Work will be from 6PM-Dark
  • Saturday: Work is from 8AM-??????. We will break for lunch at noon.
    • Please note that Dave Jennings will be starting to work at 3PM on each of the evening "workdays". If you are available before 5, he will be there and there is plenty to do. Things you need to know:
    1. All skill levels are welcomed. If you've never worked with a project like this there are many who have been working who can show you what to do. If you are a skilled craftsman you are also welcomed. All skilled craftsmen need to contact Dave Jennings directly so that he can know who you are as well as your level of experience. This step will help us be more organized.
    2. If you are planning to work on the roof you need to wear tennis shoes or soft soled shoes to prevent slipping.
    3. If you plan to serve on any of these workdays please contact Judy Conyers at jconyers80@gmail.com or by phone/text at 540-589-3655. This will help us know how much food to prepare as well as what jobs can be completed on a given workday.
    Supplies Needed:
    1. The main thing needed right now are drills and batteries to power them. If you have a drill that you aren't using please consider bringing it to the church so that it can be used for this project. Be sure to label the drill with your name on it.
    2. We are in need of additional safety harnesses. If you have a harness that you can loan us for the next month that would be great. Again, please be sure to label it.
    Moving Forward: As we move forward with this project, in the coming months we will continue with similar "workdays". Most weeks these workdays will take place on Tuesday night, Thursday night, and Saturday. All who are able should choose at least one of these times and commit to helping as much as possible during these times. If there are only a handful of us it is going to take a long time to accomplish the work. But if we rally together and work much can be accomplished for the glory of God. Activities canceled due to weather. Saturday starts at 8:30. UPDATE (7-8-11): Please note that VBS will be canceled tonight due to the weather. The
    camp-out will also be canceled. We will be having VBS tomorrow with
    registration beginning at 8:30 am. Please watch your email for any
    other important announcements. ---------------------------- You may have heard by now that our VBS program this year will be very different from the past several due to the construction of the new building!  We will be doing an overnight VBS at Camp Altamons in Allegheny Springs / Shawsville.  It is open to ages to 4-12 yrs.  Younger children are welcome, but only with a parent.   The dates for this are July 8 and 9.  We have rented 10 cabins and the kids will be staying in cabins with adult chaperones.  Families are invited to come and stay, but they will need to reserve campsites and plan to camp.  Rising kindergarteners  and older can stay in the cabins.  If their parents are counselors staying over then night younger children can also stay in the cabins.  (girls with mom / boys with dad.)  Things to Bring (for kids)
     Sleeping bag or blankets & sheets adequate for outdoor camping, and a pillow, poncho or raincoat, two pairs of closed toe shoes (one wet and one dry), sandals or flip flops for shower use only, a couple changes of clothes including shorts, modest swimsuit, t-shirts, long sleeved warm shirt, long pants, flashlight (with fresh batteries), a hat, sun screen, AND bug spray, personal articles:  toothbrush, shower items, towels, camera (optional one time use is the best type) Things NOT to bring (for kids) radios, cassette, CD  players, iPods, or any other anti-social device, cell phones, money, valuables of any kind, jewelry, etc.
