Alaska Mission Trip
GSBC ON MISSION TO ALASKA - the least churched state in America.

This week-long mission is to multi-ethnics, including Native Americans near Anchorage, Alaska. We will work in an area where there is no to very little evangelical church presence, a large portion of children are victims of alcoholism/abuse/neglect and ~ 80% divorce rate of parents. 8 students and 4 adults will be involved in showing these people how Grace works, reaching out to the needy and abandoned with the Gospel of Christ. The Cost is approximately $1200 per missionary
Our week-long mission is not just a “trip”; it will impact far beyond time and place. God will glorify Himself according to His purpose. We have outlined a vision for this project which states:
- First, we will focus toward God and His plan to reach all people groups with the Gospel which is unto salvation. In this challenged area, we will share God’s grace through backyard Bible studies, community service work and verbal witness.
- Second, we will call upon prayer warriors from our own church body, our community of churches, and from all over the nation to focus their prayers toward open hearts: our own and those we are intending to reach.
- Third, we will be pouring ourselves out, to be used in whatever ways are needed. We want to be examples, even as young people according to I Tim. 4:12, and we want to share the Hope that we have, as in I Pet. 3:15.
- Fourth, we will encourage our church body & others to be about missions in our communities and far-reaching. We will have ongoing activity beyond a short-term trip.
The team is preparing spiritually, culturally, and is raising funds by various means and by financial support from contributors. We are in need of prayer to be entirely prepared, protected, and effective in ministry. We want to be good stewards of responsibility and resource; Thank you for your support!
