Prior to working at GSBC, Barbara worked at Va Tech for 36 years.  She started at Tech right after graduating from Shawsville High School and she worked in both the Animal Science Deptartment and in administration for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. After retiring in 2003 she worked part-time in a law office in Blacksburg until she started working at the church. She also babysits one of her granddaughters for several hours each day.

Barbara and Richard Foster were high school sweethearts and they have now been married for over 40 years.  They have  two sons and now two grandaughters whom Barbara takes pride in spoiling.  

Barbara and Richard are charter members of GSBC.  Barbara says that she is thankful to be a part of GSBC and wants to remind us that we serve an awesome God.  He is always near when we need Him. (Philippians 4:6,7)
