Dee was raised in southeast Nebraska as a farm girl by two God-fearing parents along with lots of brothers and sisters. Anyone who wants to talk livestock and crops, or football -- Dee is cool with that. Dee can also share about times when prayer in school and sharing meals at a dinner table were the norm, and God was the center of their home and livelihood. The farm she grew up on was called "Thousand Hills Ranch", because the Bible says God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10)...
Dee now recognizes how she was blessed as a youth, and can recall each of her mentors from those days. Those people who helped her to do much traveling for education & 4-H, as well as mission trips with the church. In the early nineties Dee came to the east coast to pursue her postgraduate education and to establish a work history in finance, accounting, sales and management.
Dee understands that God has called her to love, nurture and teach young people to be Christ-followers, and it is her prayer that she can also be used by Him to bless others. It’s important to her to provide support to various groups in the community and to work with the Jr. - Sr. High age youth at Good Shepherd. Dee believes that God prepared her in her youth to bring her to Christiansburg, VA for "such a time as this" and praises Him for all He is doing in and through the lives of our youth!
She still enjoys a good football game (both the Huskers and Hokies), water sports, and family time. She has one son, Christian, and in 2007, married her long-time friend, Greg Wallace, who is a native of Floyd County where they have now made their home at “Oak Hill Farm”.
