Ruthie Bellman has been the Children’s Ministry Director at Good Shepherd Baptist Church since February of 2004. She grew up in the small town of Wilmore, Kentucky as the youngest of six children and was blessed with 5 wonderful older brothers. Bob and Joanne Bellman are her parents. Her father served the Lord in full-time ministry for nearly three decades, and he is still on the move after his second retirement at the age of 79 and is the Minister of Pastoral Care at our church.
Ruthie graduated from Jessamine County High School in 1981 and then attended Georgetown College, a Baptist College in Georgetown, Kentucky for 3 ½ years with a projected major in Elementary Education with a minor in Communications. She decided that she wasn’t sure about her choice of career and so she took some time off from college ... 16 years to be exact! She entered L.I.F.E. Bible College in Christiansburg in the fall of 2000 and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology with a focus on Christian Education in May of 2004. Ruthie attributes her completion of schooling as yet another example of how God continues to prove Himself faithful over and over again!
She currently resides in Pulaski County where she lives with her 12 year old daughter, Rachel, their two cats – Blackie and Patches.
Ruthie acknowledges that she has a busy life, but knows that God is the one who orchestrates her steps and says she “just keeps walking” in faith knowing He is the one who holds and guides her!
